The Lost Echo

Every night when the city sleeps
I hear the whistling train
Roaming upon precise tracks
Carrying dozed out travellers
While my sleep revels
At each and every attempt

Verses form in unexplored
Parts of my mind
As I try to pause them till
Daylight
But the harder I try
The faster they fade

Just like that
Thoughts become my sleeping pills
While the night numbs my limbs
Like an echo that’s lost
My words drown in the
Subconscious
Till all meaning is gone
And sleep goes on and on and on.
