Give me hope this time,
As the morning paper arrives
Not the news that she’s alive
Despite her predator’s might.
Give me dignity for once,
Because the dying ray of the sun
Is when darker minds begin to run
Leaving her body forever shunned.
Give me safety in this city,
So she can move about gleefully
Without wearing an ounce of worry
Taking paths, trains & gullies.
Give me punishment for crimes,
Not impetuous promises that die
Bring back the stars of her eyes
Show us a realm beyond lies.
Hear my one last plea,
Look at my ink bleed
Hues of hope so weak
Dying for everlasting peace.
